FAQ's

Can I register to play if I do not live within the region?

  • Absolutely!  However, your Host court for home matches needs to be within the region you register.  FLPB is designed to try to keep travel time to matches to 30 minutes or less.

What if my Host court is not located within the region I plan to play?

  • You will need to find a court within the region to use as your Host court for the season.

What is meant by Host court?

  • Your Host court is the location where you will play your home FLPB matches during the season.  In most cases, this is where you normally play pickleball.  However, if you normally play outside of the region you plan to register for, then your Host court would be a different court which is inside the region you register to play.

Can I play in more than one Division in a season (eg, Men's & Mixed or Ladies & Mixed)?

  • Yes, simply register separately for both Divisions you plan to play in.

How many home & away matches should we expect to play during the season?

  • We target for each team to have 3 home & 3 away matches each season, however, the exact number of each will depend on the make-up of your bracket, so the number may vary.

Will we have to play the same team in our Division twice during a season?

  • Possibly.  It will simply depend on the make-up of the Division.

How much does it cost per season to play FLPB?

  • $35 per player for each Division you register to play.

What happens if there aren't enough teams registered in a Division in my Region?

  • We will combine the teams that are registered with another Division in your Region.

 Are refunds available?

  • Yes, but only prior to the registration deadline.  A 10% service charge will be applied to all refunds in order to offset our administration costs.

What skill level should we select if my partner & I are at different skill levels?

  • The skill level of the higher level player determines the Skill Level to register to play.

A lower skill level player can register to play at a higher skill level, but not visa versa.

Do we have to play our match at the Host court?

  • As long as both teams agree, the match can be played at an alternate location in the region.

  • Yes, but the court must be available during a variety of times, including evenings and weekends. Additionally, the host team is responsible for any costs associated with the visiting team's use of the facility.

  • In the case of vacation, work, or other unpreventable scheduling conflicts, the match can be played the week before or the week after the designated Match Week.
